Melissa Belliard bio

I’ve been doing yoga and meditation for almost 25 years, and massage for over 17 years.  In my previous life I was an environmental scientist and also spent sixteen years in Human Resources.

My training includes:

  • 173 hours of Kripalu Massage training (onsite at Kripalu, such a blessing!)
  • 778 hours of Massage/Bodywork training at Palmer Institute of Massage
  • John F. Barnes Myofascial Release seminars, including MFR I and II, Fascial/Pelvis, Unwinding, Fascial/Cranium, Rebounding, and Mermaid Fascial Freedom (MFR in the water!)
  • Trainings in Reiki (I & II), Craniosacral, Reflexology, and Polarity
  • Abdominal Massage (trained in methods of Dr. Rosita Arvigo)
  • 300 hour Golden Bridge yoga training
  • Anatomy Trains In Structure And Function
  • Aquatic Exercise certification (SCW Fitness Education)

Since we are holistic beings, I can tell you that being a mother of two twenty-somethings has affected me deeply and taught me many lessons.  I am also a professional organizer when I’m not at the table/mat; this work also humbles me as people sort through their things and their emotions.  My meditation and yoga practice keeps me grounded.  I love music and dancing, and am so kinesthetic that it hurts sometimes.  I am blessed to be surrounded and awed by nature, and my free time is often somewhere in the woods or kayaking on whatever water we can find with my wonderful husband James and spending time with our grandkids.

Here is a deeper look into my personal journey with pain and recovery.
