Yoga for newbies, Snowshoe stretch, and $10 off 2:2 Reiki+Reading combo!

Happy 2020!  How is your new decade going?  It’s not too late to dust off the New Year’s Resolutions and start anew, tomorrow is a new day.  Have you always wanted to try yoga but have been intimidated by a classroom full of stretchy pretzels (I joke, only some of us are that flexible, and I am not one of them!)?  I love newbies and I love helping people find the yoga poses that work in their body.  Check out my blogs about it and then book an appointment for a Yoga+Bodywork.  Yoga first, then a relaxing bodywork session to smooth out tight areas.

It hasn’t been much of a snowy winter so far but I was grateful to get out on my snowshoes in the local woods recently (John’s Woods in Haverhill – we are so fortunate to have so many conservation areas to hike in this area!).  Here is the stretch I highly recommend when you are snowshoeing that addresses the hips, which are moving in exaggerated range of motion to pick up the snowshoe (picture below): Standing Figure 4. Hold onto a stationary object (a tree in the woods is perfect!), cross one ankle over the other bent knee, and sit back until you feel the stretch in your glutes. This is great for the piriformis muscle, which can press on our sciatic nerve and send those unpleasant sensations down our legs. Remember to do both sides, and breathe!

Thank you for your support, lovely tree!

Deborah Fay and I are loving the 2:2 Reiki+Reading combo sessions.  Give yourself some love in February and take $10 off a session before 2/14/20.  So far, our clients have been extremely satisfied with the information that they receive, as well as tools to support them going forward.  Sign up here.

Stay warm and keep hibernating.  That’s what all the animals in nature are doing, and it renews our energy so that we can jump into spring.  Thanks for stopping by!
